I’m sure a lot of you are aware of the things being said about Graffiti and Stencil Art in the media lately, namely the Victorian government campaigning to remove art from Melbourne’s streets, and enforce tough new penalties for those responsible for Street Artists- Research it, you’ll see what i’m talking about.
All i can say is, WHAT THE FUCK.
I’m not going to go in to the fine details and argument about what is Art and what is not, i think people are sensible enough to decide that for themselves.
But, ponder this.
Should we start removing all traces of Egyptian Hieroglyphics from Museums, books, ban all the TV shows, movies and documentaries about them, they show those things in schools, surely we can’t have our children doing assignments on and studying the work of vandals, what an outrage that would be.
Fuck it why not ban even speaking of the Ancient Egyptians ever again? Surely they are just blatant vandals , fuck me we can’t condone people decorating walls with stories and messages that will last for thousands of years and will be the biggest indicator of our very existence. All those damned archaeologists wasting there lives studying crap that was written on walls..Fancy that.
Don’t even get me started on the people of Pompeii, i wish they hadn’t written on the walls of their city, we would know so much more about them if they hadn’t have done that. Really where do they get off. Fuck it, lets call off the Pompeii exhibition that’s being held in Melbourne right now, people don’t want to pay to go and see the work of vandals, and perish the thought that Melbourne, Victoria and Australia be seen to be supporting such behaviour, no, that would be rediculous.
What a preposterous idea, that people would actually travel and get this, pay money to view the work of those who are surely nothing more than vandals.
While we are at it, lets extend the fuck you to and condemn Cavemen, Aboriginals, American Indians, The Romans, The Greeks and every other ancient society – Fuck you for writing, scratching, carving and inscribing your vandalous nonsense on anything that you could. Fuck you. We would have advanced as a society much faster had we not have known what you pricks were doing . Lets ban them from history too.
I could harp on about this for hours, but i am sure by now you see what i am getting at.
I guess it just goes to show how out of touch with today the people “running” this country really are. If they had any idea they would have realised that people travel from all around the world to see the iconic lane ways of Melbourne.
Melbourne has no Harbour Bridge, it has no Opera House, no Uluru or Great Barrier Reef, but by fuck it has some of the best art work in the world adorning its streets, and if i was travelling from another country, seeing that would be at the top of my itinerary list.
