<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>Firstly, thank you for your time, what&#8217;s been happening?</strong></span></div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>In my life right now it&#8217;s all about my Art, my friends, my shop Devils Ink, my partner Lucy and two kids Loki and Mars.It&#8217;s kinda full.</strong></span></div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span><span style="color: #ffffff;"><br />
</span></p>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>For those who are unfamiliar with you and what you do, can you tell us a bit about yourself and walk us through your typical day?</strong></span></div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>I&#8217;m self taught, burdened by being a perfectionist and rather introverted.</strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>I get up each day pull my artwork off the drawing board from the night before and head to the tattoo studio.I come home to my kids and missus and and we all reflect our day, we play, talk and eat. Then I start on the drawing in my studio at home again.</strong></span></div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><img src="http://imgur.com/7uqvS.jpg" alt="Hosted by imgur.com" /><br />
</strong></span></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span><span style="color: #ffffff;"><br />
</span></p>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>What initially got you involved in art, and how did that lead you in to becoming a tattooist?</strong></strong></span></div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>I liked the freedom of doing art , the solace of it and the imaginary world I lived in. I guess I learnt to express my feelings through me being such a silent and introverted kid. Art was a way to get energy out if I wasn&#8217;t skating.I followed on from high school to University to study illustration , fine art and graphic design at RMIT and The Victorian College Of Arts.</strong></strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><br />
</strong></strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong> </strong></strong></span></p>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong>I wasn&#8217;t interested in the tattoo world even at the start when I was dabbling in home made machines and trying to figure shit out. I was just curious on the medium as I felt it to be a new challenge.</strong></strong></strong></span></div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong> </strong></strong></span></p>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>I guess it was just curiosity to a medium , tattooing myself for the first time, and my mates.</strong></strong></span></div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>Tattooing esculated and quickly became out of control to tattoo at home.Too many drunk mates down the pub wanted to donate their bodies and I quickly became the guy to see for cheap tattoos, hahaha. I decided to get a job in a real shop and better myself.</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><img src="http://imgur.com/0iIER.jpg" alt="Hosted by imgur.com" /></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><br />
Favourite medium to work with apart from tattooing and why</strong>?</strong></span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>I&#8217;d say these days I like to combine airbrush for soft blending looks and work into that with pens, textas and pencils. Sometime fine brushes too, mainly on heavy grade paper. When I say airbrush ,I don&#8217;t mean tacky commercial flames n hot rod stuff, no offence.<br />
</strong><strong><strong><br />
</strong></strong></span><span style="color: #ffffff;"><br />
</span></p>
<h2><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>Who taught you to tattoo, and how have they had any effect on your style today?</strong></strong></span></h2>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>No one really taught me .I&#8217;ve definitely picked up things along the way from talking and watching other artists and  also getting tattooed by great artists helps. I look up to a varied bunch of artists around.I like Bjorn from Loxodrom in Germany, Filip Leu, Adrian Lee and Phil Holt. Non tattooists would be Privat Livemont, Norman Lindsey and CC Askew.</strong></strong></span></div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>I guess I like the classic Nouveau type feel in peoples work. I like mood and cleanliness, boldness and tightness to tattoos and art. Definitely into stylized pictures.</strong></strong></span></div>
</div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><img src="http://imgur.com/JFCfx.jpg" alt="Hosted by imgur.com" /></strong></span></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><br />
And in saying that,</strong><strong><strong> you have an amazingly clean and flowing style.How did you find your niche, and do you ever like to stray from it?</strong></strong><strong>Has your tattooing style evolved from when you began?</strong></strong></span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><br />
</strong></strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>I started doing the run of the mill Dragons, Tribal, Kanji, Cherry Creek, cheap flash and learnt to work on skin in the early days with this type of work. I suppreseed my art side cause thats all people wanted back then. My art suffered and I almost wanted to throw it in after about 6 years and go back to drawing huge pieces of art and doing exhibitions. These days I&#8217;ve done a complete 360 with the way custom tattooing has become widely poular in tattooing.I&#8217;m able to forget Tattoo terminology and go back to thinking art and doing more of that on the skin. So I evolved from a Kanji, Dragon, Tribal, rookie to get what your artistically given now.</strong></span></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>I guess you could say Tattoo’s have become accepted in today’s society, possibly even expected,  obviously there being more people for you to tattoo is a good thing, but do you think there is a downside to it?</strong></strong></span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><br />
</strong></span></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong> </strong></strong></p>
<div><strong><strong>People make bad choices when following trends. It usually occurs when the mass latches on to somthing. They&#8217;ll realize how gay they look when a new trend comes along they kick tattoos to the curb and procced to look outta place with their Playboy Bunny tattoo and Southern Cross backjobs. </strong></strong></div>
<p><strong><strong> </strong></strong></p>
<p></span><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><br />
<img src="http://imgur.com/qQulI.jpg" alt="Hosted by imgur.com" /></strong></span><span style="color: #ffffff;"><br />
</span></p>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><br />
</strong></strong></span></div>
</h2>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>How do you think certain &#8220;reality&#8221; tattoo shows on TV have affected tattooing on a broad scale? </strong></strong></span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong> </strong></strong></span></p>
<div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong> </strong></strong></strong></span></p>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong>The downside is everyone wants to make a buck outta us in our industry. TV shows , internet tattoo media sites, clothing, etc. I mean theres dozens of bad tattoo rip off clothing brands out there </strong></strong></strong><strong><strong><strong>plagiarising our designs. Pretty soon it&#8217;ll burn itself out from over exposure. We can go back to being our own then. </strong></strong></strong></span></div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong> </strong></strong></strong></span></p>
</div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong> </strong><strong> </strong></strong></span></p>
<div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong> </strong></strong></strong></span></p>
<div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong>Theres a whole new generation of young people wanting in on the tattoo industry here spurred on by the media and popularity of it all. I&#8217;m not sure if they know what it takes.</strong></strong></strong></span></div>
</div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong> </strong></strong></strong></span></p>
</div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong> </strong></strong></span></p>
</div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>I hear you&#8217;ve designed some decks for Globe, how&#8217;d that come about?</strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>They Donated some decks to Paint thru a contact, so we had fun with those.<br />
<img src="http://imgur.com/dByJ3.jpg" alt="Hosted by imgur.com" /><br />
</strong></span></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>What other tattooers do you think are really out there pushing the boundaries of tattooing?</strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>There are some pretty good Tattooists pushing different areas of tattooing like Lars Uwe , Shige, Boris, Eckle&#8230;. dozens actually.</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><br />
</strong><strong> </strong></span></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>No doubt you have seen some pretty fucked tattoo’s in your time, what is the worst tattoo you’ve ever seen?</strong></strong></span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>The worst I&#8217;ve seen would be my own, hahaha. Some of the early tribal shit, what was i thinking! Colored tribal? Hahaha.</strong></span></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>What are you thoughts on the resurgence of Traditional Tattooing?</strong></strong></span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>I like the neo classical look I think. Portrait style tattoos ,greywash with color adorned objects like flowers etc around, looks great. Traditional is actually hard to do, and make it look perfect in its own kinda way. Not really a tattoo genre I&#8217;d do on skin, I like to get carried away, not be too limited with where i can go in a picture. I&#8217;m more into the illustration approach.</strong><strong><br />
<img src="http://imgur.com/Zf4ZC.jpg" alt="Hosted by imgur.com" /></strong></span><span style="color: #ffffff;"><br />
</span></p>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><br />
</strong></strong></span></div>
<h2><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>What was your first tattoo, and who did it?</strong></strong></span></h2>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>Me and it wasnt good, haha. Covered up now is that black ornamental piece of crap.</strong></strong></span></div>
<h2><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>What inspires you to create? </strong></strong></span></h2>
<div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>Freedom, epression, going to my happy place. I&#8217;m obsessive so I have to do somthing like draw/tattoo or play music. </strong></strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong> </strong></strong></span></p>
</div>
<h2><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong>Australia is home to a whole lot of amazing tattooers,</strong> almost daily i come across someone that makes me think, &#8220;Holy Shit!&#8221; What are your thoughts on the tattoo scene here in Australia?</strong></span></h2>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>There&#8217;s a whole new generation of people coming through the tattoo industry here. I think the talent out there is growing strong and up there with other parts of the world.</strong></span></div>
<div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>The competition is strong but I think healthy also.It&#8217;s very alive and motivating to see the broad spectrum of artists on offer here In Melbourne.</strong></span></p>
</div>
<h2><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>What&#8217;s in your pockets right now?</strong></span></h2>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>My earplugs, they get annoying to wear.</strong></span></div>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><br />
</strong></span></div>
</div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>What have you been reading, listening to and watching lately?</strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>I&#8217;ve finished the a whole season of Breaking Bad, all of the Trailor Park Boys and been listening to really good techouse/ minimal tech stuff. I don&#8217;t read a lot.</strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><br />
</strong></span></div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>What are five things that you always pack with you on your travels?</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong>I&#8217;d pack my laptop, rolling tobacco, alcohol, movies on the iTouch and my missus and kids (and all their shit).</strong></strong></strong></span></div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><img src="http://imgur.com/UrT0c.jpg" alt="Hosted by imgur.com" /><br />

<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span><span style="color: #ffffff;"><br />
</span></p>
<div><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>We live in turbulent times, what are your views on the world and society today?</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></span></div>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>People to need change for the better of all that exists. We need to get out of our so call comfort zones. People fear change. Nothing stays the same.</strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong>Dont believe the TV. Think outside the box. Don&#8217;t hand your power over. Question beliefs and work on yourself always.</strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;"><strong> Lose the so many attachments we think we need, free yourself up. Learn to accept others, but value your own</strong><strong>. <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;">Work your ass off, cause the competition is stiff. A drawing/ art background of some sort really helps, It&#8217;ll put you ahead later. Don&#8217;t expect to be a millionaire from tattooing. There&#8217;s no quick way to the top, people know talent when they see it. It cant be faked and theres no shortcut to being in demand for your work.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffffff;">Its not about a lifestyle ,its about good art and hard work. I guess what you put in is what comes back. Be dedicated, stay motivated. most of all Enjoy it!</span></div>
